Plug the clock into your computer over USB-C first.
Pick a version above (leave it on the latest unless you specifically have the original v1 hardware), click "Connect & flash", then pick the clock's port from the browser's device picker.
Takes about 30 seconds. The clock restarts on its own once it's done — no need to touch anything.
Updating to a new version keeps everything you've already set up — Wi-Fi, your chess.com/Lichess/ChessConnect connection, sound and LED settings — none of that gets touched. If you'd rather start completely fresh (e.g. before giving the clock to someone else), the installer offers an "erase device" checkbox before it writes anything - leave it unchecked for a normal update.
